Pittsburgh’s biggest weekly swing dance! Every Saturday night at the Wightman School in Squirrel Hill. Beginner lesson in East Coast Swing before every dance. Features a mixture of live bands and DJ dances. A great place to get started on swing dancing with lots of lesson opportunities. See their website for schedule.
FREE dance on CMU’s campus (but not limited to CMU students). Emphasis on East Coast Swing and Lindy Hop, as well as some blues. Typically on Thursday evenings, with specific dates and locations on their website. Kilts not required (but never frowned upon).
James St Tavern
Our newest Pittsburgh venue! With a spectacular 20’ ceiling, herringbone wood floor, and Speakeasy era bar make their freshly renovated ballroom is a unique and beautiful space we’re delighted to use. Dances are most Friday nights with a free lesson beforehand. Check out their events page for info.
Edgewood Swing Dance
Organized by Coal Country Traditions and held at the Edgewood Club near Regent Square, typically on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month (summers off because dancers die without air conditioning). Beginner lesson in East Coast Swing before every dance. Most dances feature a live band.
Pittsburgh Dance Center
Located on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield and features a huge variety of events for all types of dancers. Dances and lessons include Lindy Hop, Blues, West Coast Swing, Tango, Salsa, and much more. Check out their website to find out more.
